Summit Academy Draper S.T.E.A.M. Night

This interactive event will celebrate the creativity and innovation of students, families, and the community through a series of engaging stations focused on S.T.E.A.M. education.

Summit Academy Draper is excited to announce its upcoming Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (S.T.E.A.M.) Night, on March 24 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. This interactive event will celebrate the creativity and innovation of students, families, and the community through a series of engaging stations focused on S.T.E.A.M. education and is free and open to the public.

Dr. Jeff Wyant, Principal at Summit Academy said, “This event provides an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their hard work and creativity in a fun, hands-on way, while also allowing the community to experience the impact of S.T.E.A.M. education firsthand.”

Summit Academy is proud to partner with the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art (UMOCA), which will donate a creative art project for families to enjoy together.

“The Utah Museum of Contemporary Art believes in the power of contemporary art to inspire and transform,” said Alison Neville, UMOCA representative. “Through partnerships like this one with Summit Academy Draper, we’re able to offer students engaging, dynamic educational experiences that encourage them to think critically and creatively about the world around them. Our school programs reach over 15,000 students each year, and we’re proud to contribute to Summit Academy’s S.T.E.A.M. Night.”

The event will also feature the impressive artwork created by Summit's students. From hands-on science experiments to visual art exhibits, the S.T.E.A.M. Night promises an evening full of inspiration, learning, and fun for all ages.

Summit Academy’s robust art program receives vital funding from the Beverley Taylor Sorenson (BTS) Foundation, whose ongoing support helps nurture the creative development of students across Utah.

“The Beverley Taylor Sorenson Arts learning program provides integrated arts education across the state, ensuring that every child has access to arts education in their school,” said Charlotte Hawkins, Beverley Taylor Sorenson Visual Arts Specialist. “Beverley’s dream was to see every child create, dream, and explore their artistic potential. We are grateful for the continued support from the Sorenson family and the Utah State Legislature.”

Summit Academy Draper is a premier K-8 charter school in Draper, Utah.
