In this beginning to intermediate class, students of any skill level are invited to learn the foundations of working with clay. Students can expect to participate in a series of guided projects that will support learning methods in wheel throwing (centering, pulling, and vessel formation) and hand-building (pinch, coil, slab). After demonstrations, students may also work freely on their own projects with instructor support. Additional instruction will be woven into lessons to build knowledge in the areas of surface treatments, function, design, and expression. All students enrolled in current, full-session ceramics classes have access to open studio hours limited to the ceramics area.

Class is held at the VISUAL ART INSTITUTE in South Salt Lake.

Tuition: $299 for the 12 Week Program Materials Fee: 1st Bag of Clay $48, Additional Bags may be purchased throughout the term

Ages: 12-101 years old

Class is held Mondays 6:30-8:30 pm September 9th-December 2nd. No class will be held the week of Thanksgiving.

Our parking lot can get very busy. Use the NORTH parking lot and enter up the ramp.
