January is Learn to Ski and Snowboard Month all across the country. Beginner kids and adults take to the slopes during January to learn how to ski or snowboard with amazingly inexpensive deals that include rental equipment, a lesson, and a lift ticket. Prices vary, but deals start at $49 for the whole package. Click here for all the information.

But January 11 is special. The governor even signed a proclamation declaring January 11 as the official Learn to Ski and Snowboard Day here in Utah. On that day Utah and 30 other states are trying to break a World Record for the most lessons given across the country in just one day. The current record is 6,002.

Learners at Brighton get a special treat on that day. They'll get to check out a PistenBully

Deer Valley, Park City Mountain, Snowbird and Solitude will also participate in trying to break the World Record.
